• Ozone affects air quality in the summer. There are a variety of ways you can help reduce air pollution this summer, such as switching
  to electric or manual-powered yard tools where feasible.

There are three ways you can enter to win!

1. Enter online. We will only accept entries July 1 - 31, 2010. One entry per person, per day.

2. Visit Spokane Clean Air’s office to fill out an entry form, 3104 E. Augusta Ave., Mon-Fri,
    8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.  The office will be closed on Monday, July 5.

3. Visit Spokane Clean Air's booth at the following community events:

• EnviroKids at Discovery Park, July 9, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Summer Parkways on Howard Ave. (between Riverfront & Corbin Parks), July 11, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

There are lots of things you can do to help clear the air this summer:

• On 90+ degree days, hold off using gas-powered yard equipment until evening, or on a cooler day.
• Consider electric or manual-powered yard and garden tools when it's time to replace your gas-powered equipment.
• Use a gas can that is easy to handle and use a funnel spout with a stop device to prevent overfilling.
• Store gasoline in a tightly-closed container, in a cool, dark place. Keep at ground level to reduce the risk of falling and spilling.
• Refueling your vehicle after 5 p.m..
• Avoid over-filling your vehicle's gas tank.
• Keep tires properly inflated.
• Combine errands for fewer automobile trips.
• Bike, walk, ride the bus or share a ride.
