About Our Air

The Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency is responsible for regulating air emissions from stationary commercial/industrial facilities, as well as portable, temporary stationary sources

There are about 650 facilities registered with Spokane Clean Air, per Regulation I, Article IV, which lists sources that have been identified as having potentially significant air emissions and therefore may be required to be in the agency's Annual Registration Program.

In addition, these facilities may have to go through a Notice of Construction (NOC) approval process prior to any modification of existing equipment or installation of new equipment.

Some businesses, based on their activities and subsequent emissions, do not fall under the annual registration program, however, they are still subject to general air quality regulations. Examples include dust and smoke emissions, odors, asbestos, etc.
