HAPPY NEW YEAR! Start the New Year right— Make a Resolution to Reduce Air Pollution!
January's Travel Green, Live Green promotion is underway. Our hope is that you will make a commitment to do something in 2010 that will help our air quality. Here are some ideas:
-
Travel Green by resolving to try a commute alternative at least once-a-week in January. Alternatives include riding the bus, walking or bicycling, or carpooling. There are many benefits to using a commute alternative, including:
-
Save money at the gas pump! Less money spent on gasoline means more money to do the things you enjoy.
-
Find more free time to read or catch up on emails. When you let someone else do the driving, you’ll arrive at work and back at home more relaxed.
-
Get your exercise during your commute—more time for other things after work!
-
Fewer vehicles on the road means less congestion and less air pollution. Healthier air quality reduces illnesses such as lung disease and asthma.
Email us what you resolve to do for clean air in 2010 and you will be entered to win one of 10 prizes! Each winner will get a Spokane Regional Clean Air mug, a key chain carabiner and a $7 gift card to Rocket Bakery. One grand prize winner will also win a $25 gift certificate to Catacombs!
Send an email by January 31, to sramel@spokanecleanair.org with the word “resolution” in the subject. Leave your name, address, phone number, email address and what you resolve to do in 2010. Anyone 18 years or older who works or lives in Spokane County is eligible. One email entry per person, valid ID must be presented when picking up prize. We will not use your contact information for any other purpose than to verify you live or work in Spokane County and if you win, to be able to reach you.
